| Birth: | 1797 | | Death: | Oct. 13, 1876 |  He fought in the War of 1812. Was present when General Hull surrendered to the British. Was appointed Associate Justice of the Wayne County Circuit Court. Was a member of the first state constitutional convention, and served two terms in the state legislature. He was also alderman in 1833 and 1841, and assessor in 1835. He was also appointed one of a board of visitors to look after the interests of the University of Michigan.
