Son of James Turner PardueSr and Elizabeth Jane Maloney Pardue Dowdy.

His wife died in 1888 in Young County, TX, leaving him with four young children, the youngest being only two years of age. Newton left the children in the care of his mother-in-law and returned to Stoddard County, MO which is where his own widowed mother was living. She remarried in 1893 to David S Stevens and nothing is known of them after that event. Newton is enumerated in Stoddard County at the 1900 census.
