William was one of 9 children of Ira Bishop and Evy (Senter) Bishop. William's 2nd wife was Phronita Tommy (Bishop) Bishop. Yes, her maiden name was Bishop. They had 8 kids including Charlie Bishop, who married Bertha Meggs. One of their 8 kids was Hubert (Bill) Bishop.

William was a Sergeant in The 37th Alabama Infantry Company B, Tallapoosa County. Thanks to Stubby Tate for this information.
