Obituary
Anna Keck Jenkins
Anna Keck Jenkins was born May 11, 1847, and died February 25, 1945, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maude Moore south of Dexter, Kas., at the age of 97 years, 9 months and 14 days.
She was married to John Scott, a minister and to this union four children were born, all of whom preceded her in death. Mr. Scott died in 1878. She married John B. Jenkins, of Missouri in 1881 and to this union one child, Mrs. Maude Moore was born. Mr. Jenkins died in 1905.
Mrs. Jenkins is survived by one daughter, 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She has three grandsons and seven great grandsons in service.
In spite of her age, Mrs. Jenkins was active until the last few years of her life. She has been a resident of the Dexter community for 54 years.
Funeral services were held at the home at 3:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, Feb. 26. The Rev. George Hendryxson of Cedar Vale officiated.
A quartet composed of Miss Mary Ruple, Miss Jean Welch, Miss Doris Deets and Miss Betty Howard sang. Pallbearers were L.Q. Foltz, Lew Condit, Ray Condit, Fred Brubaker, Seward Day and Bill Weaver. Interment was in Dexter cemetery.
