Our beautiful angel, Ashlynn McKell Barker, 14, passed away peacefully in the early morning of May 31, 2014. She is now running and breathing free with her family and friends who greeted her in Heaven. Our loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, and friend was born on March 6, 2000 to Michael David and Roxanne Hartley Barker in Ogden, Utah. Ashlynn attended Green Acres Elementary and had just finished the 8th grade at Orion Jr. High. Even though she has spent 14 years in North Ogden, Ashlynn dreamed of living on the Oregon Coast.

She loved the shopping trips with mom and watching movies at home with dad. Ashlynn also loved her friends and enjoyed hanging out with them. Among her many favorite foods were sushi, steak, and bacon. Ashlynn loved to draw and make beautiful drawings. She had the most beautiful hair and her favorite color was blue. Ashlynn loved to snow ski and photography.

Ashlynn's life was changed in 2008 when she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. Even after receiving her diagnosis, Ashlynn still had eyes full of life and a contagious smile. She longed and dreamed to dance and play many sports.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved not only being in Young Women's but her leaders and the girls in her ward.

Ashlynn is survived by her parents, Michael Barker and Roxanne (Kim) Baird; sister, Candace (Blake) Fergeson; brothers, Garrett (Allison) Barker and Cameron Barker; two nephews whom she adored, Ryett Fergeson and Bentley Barker; grandma, Donna Barker and grandpa, Roger Hartley.

She was met with open arms by her grandpa, Dee Barker; grandma, Reneé Brunker; and uncle, Daniel Barker.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Cold Water Stake Center, 770 East 2100 North. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd., and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ron Day and his staff at Primary Children's Hospital.
