Martin Van Dyer, 81, of Keota, Oklahoma, passed away suddenly, along with his wife, Hilda Mulloy Dyer, 75, on Tuesday, May 27, 2014

Born June 28, 1932 in Gatesville, Texas, Martin was raised in Florence, Texas and upon graduating high school there, he attended college in Stephenville for 3 years before being drafted into the U.S. Army where he served as a trainer to radar technicians, stationed at Fort Bliss El Paso, Texas. Following that, he continued to serve his country through his work at White Sands Missile Range for 35 years where he was recognized for his contributions to the Patriot missile system. A long-time resident of Keota, Oklahoma, Martin had a true love for the land and all of God's creation and spent his post-retirement years working the land and cattle left to him by his parents, Bayne and Chlotee Dyer. When not attending to the daily responsibilities of farm and livestock, he loved to travel. Open to experiences, he traversed many parts of this earth from Greenland to Brazil, Israel to Peru, across the United States and had a particular appreciation for Alaska. Martin was preceded in death by one son, Martin Bayne Dyer II and his parents, Bayne and Chlotee Dyer.
