Greek Monarch. His full name was Otto Friedrich Ludwig Wittelsbach, and he was also known as Otto of Greece. He was son of King Louis I of Bavaria and his wife Therese Charlotte Luise of Sachsen-Altenburg. He was chosen by a conference of European powers at London as first King of the Hellenes. He married Princess Amalie (Amelie) Friederike Maria of Oldenburg.
