He had served his country in the US ARMY AIR FORCES, WWII, China India Theatre, (original) Flying Tigers, under General Chenault; designed and painted the Flying Tiger's ferocious Shark's teeth design on the aircraft; discharged as a Staff Sgt.; kept in contact with the 23rd Fighter Group of the 14th US Army Air Force (later just US Air Force, 1947 onward) throughout his life; member of VFW 2716; he received Military Honors for his funeral from American Legion Post 10 and the Weirton Honor Guard.
