Pioneer Movie Stunt Pilot. Born in Iowa, following his service as a US Army aviator in World War I, he relocated in California. Answering an ad for pilots to film aerial sequences for silent movies, he soon was in demand for his flying skills. As a stunt pilot, his many credits included "Manslaughter" (1922), "California Straight Ahead" (1925), "Hell's Angels" (1930), "The Dawn Patrol" (1930) and "The Lost Squadron" (1932). He lost his life while flying for the film "Sky Bride" (1932). (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
