Rebecca Minnie CHALFANT ( Klair Garner) was the 10th child of 12 (10 lived to adulthood) of Daniel Spring Chalfant and Sarah Hershey FISHER Chalfant. She was married twice: her first husband was John Hayes Klair, Sr. (1869-1904)who she married in 1885 until his death in 1904.

Together John Hayes Klair, Sr and Rebecca Minnie CHALFANT Klair had 3 children ( Edna Sarah KLAIR Parrish, Samuel Springer Klair, and John Hayes Klair, Jr.)

After Mr. Klair's death in 1904 she would meet and marry Franklin L. Garner (1859-1923)in 1905. Mr. Garner had been married once before and was a widower.
