Paul was the husband of Catherine (Gavaler) Lieb

He was the son of Augustine Lieb and Clara Theresa (Williams) Lieb

CARROLLTOWN- Paul "Toot" Lieb age 93, Carrolltown, passed away May 11, 2014 surrounded by his family. Born March 29, 1921 in Carrolltown, son of Augustine and Clara (Williams) Lieb. Survived by his wife of 68 years, Catherine (Gavaler) Lieb. their children; Jerry(the late Coleen Selby), Claire Domino (Gary), Steve (Mary Myers), Susie Phillips (Jeff), Cathy Cavallo (Jim), Rose Hartman (Bob) and Paul; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren also numerous Nieces and nephews. Paul was the last surviving member of the A. A. Lieb family, having been prededed in death by brothers, Arthur, Gerald, Charles, Alfred, Edgar, David, Robert and Father Germain, OSB and sisters, Blanche Hipps, Gertrude Smith, Ellen Lieb, and twin sister, Pauline Lieb. He attended St. Benedict Elementary School and graduated form Carrolltown High School.

Paul was a veteran of World War II. Member of the American Legion Post 506 and Carrolltown Fire club, where he served as treasurer for many years He lived his life as a devoted husband and father. Before retiring, he worked a the Main Street Garage, Bender Electric Company, Westrick Pontiac and Sherry Appliance. Paul served as president of Holy Name Society, and was a member of Knights of Columbus and the Cemetery Association, a Benedictine Oblate and a Eucharistic minister. He especially enjoyed his ministry as sacristan at St. Benedict Catholic Church, training servers, counting collection money and any other miscellaneous jobs that needed to be done.
When not ministering to the church, he was an avid bowler, horseshoe player and gardener. He also enjoyed playing cards on the computer. He loved dogs and was famous for his horseradish and caramel popcorn.
Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at Stevens Funeral Home. Inc. 146 N. Main St., Carrolltown, PA. 15722, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Additional viewing will be held from 10 a,m. until Mass of Christain Burial at 11a.m. Thursday at St Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, by his grandson, Father Augustine Lieb, TOR
Committal Church cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by local veterans.
