Blanche Backus dies here at 72
Mrs. John F. (Blanche) Backus, 72, of 1501 Warren died in a local hospital Tuesday.
Mrs. Backus was born in Rolla, N.D., July 28, 1893 [sic], and moved with her parents to Wanda, Sask., where she was educated. She came to Butte in 1923 and here married her husband in 1931. Mrs. Backus was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Butte Chapter 39.
She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. J. R. Folz of Beaverton, Ore., and Mrs. Frank Divel of Bozeman; son Clifford Tolen of Fort St. John, B.C; brother George Gordon of Seattle; sisters, Mrs. Henry Lozette of Santa Clara, Man. And Mrs. P. R. Woolford of Butte; grandchildren, John and James Folz of Beaverton, Susan and Robert Divel of Bozeman, Mrs. Kenneth McCall of Calgary, Alta., and Mrs. John Rygh in Quebec, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The body is in Syatovic-White’s Funeral Home.
