"Abraham Brower the popular pioneer who died recently and mention of whose death appeared in last week’s paper was born at West Alexander [West Alexandria, Preble County], Ohio July 30, 1814. He moved to Yuma county [Colorado] in 1887. He was the father of twelve children eight of whom are now living. There was no man in the county who stood higher in the esteem of the people as a good old man and a safe counselor. He was buried one week ago Wednesday on the farm of his son, Joseph Brower, who furnished him a happy home during the sunset of his life. He was interred beside the remains of a devoted helpmate who passed to the great beyond to prepare a place for him."
She died prior to January 1897 according to the affidavit of James F. Smith in the Civil War Pension File of Nelson Brower.
