Born in Rock Springs, Wyoming, he played football for and graduated from Notre Dame in 1965 with a degree in psychology. He broke most of Notre Dame's pass reception records and was named to every All-America team since. Drafted in 1965 by the Minnesota Vikings who traded him to the (then) Los Angeles Rams, where he spent his entire 11-season National Football League career as a wide receiver. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1967. Regarded as a standout receiver for the Rams from 1965 to 1975, he finished fifth in the NFL in receptions (51) in 1970 and ninth that season in receiving yardage (859). He ranks fifth on the Rams' all-time list for yards receiving (6,012), seventh on the team's all-time receptions list (340) and fifth with 45 career touchdown receptions. Snow was the Rams' receivers coach in 1982 and later began broadcasting for the club, and then moved with the club to St. Louis in 1995. He broadcast his last game on November 20, 2005, and intended to work the Rams' game November 27, in Houston, but became too ill. He was the father of professional baseball player J.T. Snow.
