Virginia McDavid Free, 87, of the Dan'l Boone Community, Gate City, VA. Virginia was a lifelong resident of Scott County. She previously attended several churches over her lifetime as a Pastor's wife and helpmate. Her last church of attendance was Homeland Baptist Church prior to failing health problems. Virginia was a caregiver for her mother, brother and sister until they went home to be with the Lord. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elder Harold L. Free; parents, Rev. Reece and Cora Morrison McDavid; special granddaughter, Vanessa K . Free; grandson in law, Donnie Cox; special brother, Grady E. McDavid; sister Irene McDavid; her brothers, Clyde, Clarence, Carl, Cecil and Harry McDavid.
