Inez Duncan passed on to the next stage- a better place- Saturday, 12 Apr 2014 in Paso Robles. She was the oldest of 12 children of James L. Glover and Ethel Edna Glover (Lynn). Inez was born in Byers, TX on the 11th of Feb. in 1913. She lived in Texas in her childhood and Southern California in her early adult life. She moved to North San Luis Obispo County in the late 60's and spent the rest of her life there. She was active with the San Luis Obispo County Cowbelles and the Paso Robles Senior Center, meeting many people and making many friends.
Inez lived a full life, living through WWI, the Depression and WWII. She wasn't "Rosie the Riveter", but she did work in a defense plant during WWII building aircrafts. In her retirement years, she travelled the world, visiting 49 of the 50 states and 6 of the 7 continents.
She outlived her husbands and 2 out of their three children; Joan McComas, her daughter; and Mike Palmer, her youngest son. She is survived by Jay and Ginger Palmer, her oldest son and daughter-in-law. Also survived by many grandchildren, great & great great grandchildren.
In attendance for her 100th birthday last year were 101 relatives, kids, grandkids, 4 sisters and 1 brother. Her surviving sisters are Leah (Berta) Essex of Clovis, Gwen Hillskemper (Bob) of Yorba Linda, Pat Stephenson of Oregon, Donna Brooks of Oregon and 1 brother, Ren Glover (Doris)of Nevada. She now joins 2 brothers and 4 sisters who preceded her departure.
Burial: Cremated, Ashes scattered at sea. Specifically: She was cremated and her ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean by airplane just off the pier at Cayucus, California where her 100th birthday party was held.
