Alice M. Hamilton, 94, of 801 Davis Ave., died at 8:55 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Stonehill Care Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Epworth. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley, where military rites will be accorded by the Epworth American Legion John White Post 650. Friends may call from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Epworth, where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.
She was born on Sept. 29, 1906, in Epworth, daughter of John and Mary (McCarthy) Hamilton.
She was a 1925 graduate of the former Epworth High School and a 1930 graduate of the former Mercy School of Nursing, Dubuque. She worked at the Cook County Hospital, Chicago, for a few years. She then served as a nurse in the Army for three years during World War II, and was stationed in France. After which time she was employed at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Hines, Ill., retiring in 1970.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish, Epworth, and its altar and rosary society; Mercy School of Nursing Alumni; Epworth American Legion John White Post 650; and the National Retired Federal Employees.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Mary Walsh, Theresa Murphy, Kathryn Schultz and Anne Noonan; five brothers, William Hamilton, the Rev. Angelo Hamilton, CP, James Hamilton, George Hamilton and Charles Hamilton.
Memorials may be given to Stonehill Care Center.
