Michael E. (Frank) Healey

Published in the October 23, 1918 Pilot, Blair, Nebraska

The body of Frank Healey arrived from Torrington, Wyo., and was taken directly to the cemetery for burial, owing to the ban upon public gatherings because of influenza, which the disease caused his death. Frank was teaching in Lingle, Wyoming, until the schools were closed because of influenza. His wife was a teacher also.

He was born at Hay Springs, Neb., April 3rd, 1886, and was therefore just past 32 years of age. He was married to Miss Alma Larimer, of Exeter, Neb., in June 1912, and they had been teaching together ever since, life being very dear and joyous to both. She came with the body, being joined at Lincoln by her brother, Peter Larimer, and returned with him to Lincoln.

Frank is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick and Elizabeth Healey, who live south of town on the Kennard road; Miss Mary, of Sheridan, Wyo.; Catherine, who teaches at the McCarthy School; Anthony F., who left last Friday for France as one of Uncle Sam’s soldiers; Annie, of Douglas, Wyo.; Agnes, Clarice and Nell, who live at home.

The funeral service at the grave was conducted by Father O’Driscoll. Frank was a big, husky, hearty fellow, the pride of his parents and brother and sisters, and his sudden death in the prime of life is a great shock to them all. They have the sincere sympathy of all who know them.
