Franklin News-Herald, Wed, Jan 2 1952:
Miss Jean Hawthorne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hawthorne of 78 Second Avenue, Bleakley Hill (Rocky Grove), married Hazen Doutt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Doutt of Polk, at 7:30 pm New Year's Day in the parsonage of the First Methodist Church, with Rev. H. L. Knappenberger officiating the double ring service. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. William Kirkpatrick, brother-in-law and sister of the groom. Mrs. Marlow Adams, another sister of the groom, gave a wedding reception in her home at Polk. The couple left on a short wedding trip to New York State, after which they will live in Polk. Both have worked in the IBM Department of Joy Manufacturing Co. On Jan. 10, Mr. Doutt leaves foe induction in the US Army.

Hazen "Knute" D. Doutt, 85, of Crawford Avenue, Polk, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Sugar Creek Station. Born May 27, 1928, in Polk, Hazen was the son of the late Claude and Olive B. (Armstrong) Doutt.

He graduated from of Stoneboro High School, proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War era, retired from Joy Manufacturing after 18 years as an IBM Operator, and was a superintendent for PennDOT and an administrative assistant for United Data. He was a member of Polk United Methodist Church, the Myrtle Lodge 316, Oil Valley Lodge of Perfection, and the Washington Club. He was always looking for ways to spend time at his hunting camp in Tionesta. Five Bear Camp was built by him, his father, and his brothers. Along with camp, he enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada with family and friends, hunting squirrel and coon with his dogs, horse shows, and driving his truck.

On Jan. 1, 1952, he married Florence "Jean" Hawthorne, who survives, with sons: David A. Doutt and wife, Mary, of Titusville, and Dana R. Doutt and wife, Jody, of Utica; daughter, Nancy J. Stamm and husband, Gary, of Palmyra; brother, James E. Doutt and wife, Doris, of Polk; brothers-in-law: Lewis Sandieson and Dave Hawthorne and wife, Penny; sisters-in-law, Lorys Green and husband, Donald, and Connie Hawthorne; grandchildren: Tierney Doutt, Carolyn Rogers, Tom Collins, Tristan Doutt, Tara Doutt, Tyson Doutt, Christina Finegan, Cody Doutt, Scott Sloss, Melissa Patrick, Justin Sloss, Justin Stamm and Adriane Felmlee; and 19 great-grandchildren. Deceased are his parents; grandson, Jacob Ryan Doutt; brothers, Howard and Harold; and sisters, Eleanore Adams, Marie Dickens, and Lois Kirkpatrick.

Interment will be in Oil Sandy Cemetery.
