Edward Parker Whitney, resident of Redlands for many years, died at the Windsor hospital at Glendale due to an illness caused by anxiety over the long sickness of his wife who died just days ago.

Mr. Whitney, who is survived by one son, Allen, came to Redlands in the early '80s and in 1890 planted the orange orchard ion the southwest corner of Lugonia avenue and Nevada street which has since that time been the location of the family home.

He was a member of the Elks club of Redlands and they and Rev. Wm Cowan officated his service at the Cortner chapel.
