United States Air Force. He was the grandfather of Margaret Cain Davis and the uncle of Dixon H. Cain of Houston, Texas. His daughter, Jane Randolph Cain married Charles Gibbons Davis II, son of Edward Lawrence Davis, on March 12, 1955.

Lieut. Benjamin B. Cain Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben B. Cain, was born in Tyler, Texas, October 28, 1895. He was educated at the University of Texas, Austin. Following the declaration of war Lieut. Cain offered his services to his country April 8, 1917 and was ordered to Galveston, where he first served with the Machine Gun Company of the 3rd Texas Infantry. Later transferred to Company A, 131st Machine Gun Battalion, 36th Division, Camp Bowie. From here he was sent to Officers' Training School at Camp Jackson, South Carolina, where he was commissioned Second Lieutenant in July, 1918. Next ordered to Camp Zachary Taylor and on October 1, 1918, commissioned First Lieutenant. Received the appointment of Machine Gun Instructor. Discharged from service in December 1918.
