CLARENDON - Louise Koeninger Shadle, 101, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Garmon, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.

Mrs. Shadle was born Feb. 5, 1904, in Wise County to Franz Joseph Koeninger and Delia Bridget Conner Koeninger. She married Thomas Marvin Shadle on May 16, 1923, in Wise County. She, her husband and infant daughter moved to Donley County in 1925. After a brief stint moving from one oil field to another, including Borger, they settled back in Donley County where they farmed and ranched for more than 60 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clarendon.

She was preceded in death by her only son, Joseph Marvin Shadle on Aug. 11, 1968; her husband on Aug. 3, 1988; and a son-in-law, Ray Pittman on June 17, 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, LaRue Shadle Pittman of Amarillo; two grandsons, James Dennis Shadle and wife Susie and Joe Neal Shadle and wife Raenell, all of Clarendon; two granddaughters, Cheryl Shadle Fox of Canyon and Barbara Shadle Williams of Clarendon; 12 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Citizens Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 669, Clarendon, TX 79226-0669 or First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 157, Clarendon, TX 79226-0157.

Casket bearers will be Brad Shadle, Che Shadle, Michael Shadle, Jeremy Hand, Roy Williams III, Josey Shadle, Joshua Williams and James Christopher Williams.
