Nicholas D. Gallagher Jr., age 66, of Troy, Oh., died 2:40 p.m. Monday, September 2, 1996 at Stouder Memorial Hospital, Troy, Oh. Born January 21, 1930 in Columbus, Oh., son of the late Nicholas D. and Lucille Rike Gallagher. Graduate of Aquinas College High School, Columbus and The Ohio State University. Retired January of 1993 from Kimberly-Clark, Brown-Bridge-Troy, Oh. as Technical Director and later as a research fellow. Prior to that he worked for 17 years at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus. Member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy. Served as Lector at the church. Served for 22 years on the City of Troy Administrative Board; American Chemical Society; TAPPI Industry and Ohio TAPPI. Survived by wife, Rita L. Davis; children, Joseph S. Gallagher, Middletown, Michael V. Gallagher, Cincinnati, Oh., Nicholas D. Gallagher IV, Troy, Mrs. David K. (Julia) Galbreath Jr., Piqua, Mrs. Virgil P. (Theresa) Thompson, Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Thomas W. (Margaret) White, Troy and Mrs. Kevin G. (Nora) Fisher, Columbus, Oh.; 14 grandchildren; brothers, Thomas J. Gallagher, Las Vegas, Nev., Charles I. Gallagher, Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters, Mrs. Richard K. (Mary) Thompson, Colorado Springs, Colo. and Mrs. Dorothy A. Murphy, Silver Springs, Md.
