Ethel Mae Beal Young, age 84, of Brandywine, MD, died January 3, 2010 at Washington Hospital Center. Born September 5, 1925 in Canton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Cecil Warren Beal and Mabel Taylor Beal.

Mrs. Young was married to the late Robert Melvin Young. They had been married 40 years until his death in 1998. She worked as a secretary for the United States Census Bureau for many years. An active member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church,

she worked diligently with the ladies' group. She enjoyed knitting, crabbing, fishing and hunting. An avid NASCAR fan, #48, Jimmy Johnson, was a favorite. She loved her dog, Missy and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Bob and Chuck Beal and granddaughter, Teresa Wilson Hobbs. She is survived by her son, Jim C. Wilson (Judy); daughter, Judy Ann Elliott (Brian); sister, Elizabeth Beers; inlaws, Ruby & Doyle Funkhouser and Dot and Ray Borras; grandchildren, Jim "Bobby" Wilson, Stacey Elliott and Samantha Elliott and great-grandchildren, Krysten Hobbs, Dylan Wilson, Thomas Hall, Skylar Lederer and Lizzie Wilson.
