She was institutionalized in the London Asylum at least from 1911 to 1921 according to those censuses she could neither read nor write.
Listed as Ida Francis and Frances Ida born in Oxford Co. Nothing was written about her mental state or how long she had been there. Evidently she was released at some point before her death to live with her daughter.

SMITH
the death occurred on Sunday afternoon of Ida Frances Post,
widow of the late Charles Smith, at the hone of her daughter Mrs. Geo. Langford, 121 Canterbury Street, Ingersoll.
She was in her 74th year and had been in failing health for some time, but only confined to her bed for two weeks.
In addition to having many friends in Ingersoll and district, Mrs. Smith was widely known in the Mount Elgin section, her parents being pioneer residents of that community. Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. George langford, Ingersoll. The funeral was held at one o'clock on Tuesday afternoon from the residence of their son-in-law George langford, 121 Canterbury Street, to the Mount Elgin Cemetery.
