Funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St., Dalton, 44618 with Rev. Eldon R. Trubee officiating. Burial at Dalton Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 12 noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
Clayton O. Brown was born August 18, 1912 in Wayne County to Melvin and Mary (Herman) Brown. He married Margaret Zaugg on November 25, 1935, she preceded him in death. A resident of Millersburg and Lake Buckhorn for 30 years, he was formerly of Orrville. He was a member of Clark Presbyterian Church. Clayton enjoyed oil painting, playing guitar and had played in a band for square dancing. He retired from Cottage Creamery as plant superintendant.
He is survived by daughters, Carol (Clayton) Shoudt of Loudonville, Mary Wertz of Marshallville, and Lori (Cole) Wengered of Millersburg; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sycamore Run Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
In addition to his wife, Margaret V. Brown, he was preceded in death by brother, Herman Brown; and a sister, Rosezella Dalessandro.
