Sosimo Dominguez Montaño
May 21, 1928 - April 20, 2014
Sosimo D. Montaño, of Holbrook, Navajo County, Arizona passed away following a brief illness on Easter Sunday in Flagstaff, Coconino County, Arizona. He was 85.
Sosimo was born to the late, Antonio and Beatrice Montaño in Concho, Apache County, Arizona on May 21, 1928.
A wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather Sosimo always provided for his family. His children and grandchildren never went without what was needed and up until the end he always cared for them. He had a great sense of humor, always telling jokes and bringing a smile to anyone, especially in the time of need.
He coached baseball in the Holbrook area for many years and was very involved in his community. A faithful member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church he was always helping in any church function or where ever he was needed. He loved anyone and everyone and will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his son, Sandy Montaño of Holbrook; daughters, Lupe Ann Holden of Phoenix, and Almira and husband, Jim Graham of Holbrook; 7 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren as well as 2 brothers and 1 sister.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen G. Montaño in 1983 as well as 1 brother and 2 sisters.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 212 E. Arizona, Holbrook with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in the Holbrook Cemetery.
