Funeral services for Mrs. George W. Banks were held at the late home near Irene on Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock and at Flora church at 1:20 o'clock, the Rev. H. M. Bannen officiating. The singers were Mrs. Benjamin Cronk and Miss Dorothy Reynolds.
Mrs. Banks' six youngest sons acted as pallbearers and floral bearers were members of the Ladies' Aid society. Interment was in Flora cemetery.
Mrs. Banks, whose maiden name was Elva L. Brown, was born in Genoa, Ill. Jan. 7. 1861, where she resided until her marriage to George W. Banks, Oct. 16, 1878, and the home has since been made in the vicinity of Irene.
The husband and eight children survive, they being: Frank U., of Irene; Sadie I. of Chicago; Alfred J., Lloyd P. and Raymond M. of Irene; Herman A. of St. Paul, Minn.; and Edward B. and Gerson L. of Kirkland. There are eleven grandchildren living and one has passed away.
Her aged father, James P. Brown, lives at Genoa, and she is also survived by six sisters and four brothers.
Mrs. Banks' last illness was more than three months' duration, seven weeks which time she was a patient at Swedish American hospital, Rockford, where the end came at noon, Oct. 2.
