Considered by many to be the greatest of the the 18th-century feminists, she was the author of "A Vindication of the Rights of Woman". She was married to William Godwin, and was the mother of Mary Shelley, who wrote "Frankenstein". Originally buried in Saint Pancras Churchyard, her remains were moved to St. Peter's Churchyard, Bournmouth, England in 1851.
