Maurice Wray, 93, retired advertising, passed away Friday, January 30, 2004, at his residence at St. Catherine's Village in Madison. Visitation is after 12:00 noon Monday, 2:00 chapel service at Lakewood Funeral Home, with interment following in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Wray was proud of the fact that he was an Elder emeritus of the Presbyterian Church PCA, a member of First Presbyterian in Madison and a former member of Grace Presbyterian Church. He was a longtime resident of Jackson, and moved to Madison in 1994. He was retired from the old Capitol Broadcasting Company Radio Station WSLI and channel 12 WJTV in 1981 . He spent his entire business and professional life in the media of radio and television primarily in sales and public relations. Mr. Wray was a past president of the Greater Jackson Advertising Club and 1977 recipient of the Silver Medal Award.

He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Lilla Windham Wray of Madison, a daughter Cynthia Shaw of Jackson and Houston, Texas, and a son Edward S. Wray, of Jackson.

Mrs. Leslie Knox Arrington announces the marriage of her daughter, Nancy Knox, to Maurice Bentley Wray, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Readie Wray of Shreveport, La. The marriage was solemnized on Thursday morning. Oct. 23, In the chapel of the Canal Street Presbyterian church in New Orleans. The bride was attired in a two-piece grey tweed suit with which she wore a Parisian original black cloche hat trimmed with Australian Cassowary feathers and accessories to match. Accenting her costume was shoulder bouquet of white orchids. After a brief stay in New Orleans, Mr. and Mrs. Wray will return to Jackson, where they will make their home. The bride is a daughter of the late Mr. Arrington.
