AUSTIN -- The funeral for Virginia L. Dutcher will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Austin, with the Rev. Mark D. Nordell officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
Mrs. Dutcher, 75, of 1306 Third Ave. S.W., a former secretary, died Wednesday (April 9, 1997) at Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville, Iowa.
Virginia L. Fargusson was born April 30, 1921, in Waltham. On Nov. 16, 1943, she married Donald E. Dutcher in Austin. She had worked as a secretary at Hormel Foods Corp. and for the Austin school system and also sold real estate. Mrs. Dutcher was a member of First United Methodist Church, Y Matrons, Austin Country Club and Cotillion. She enjoyed playing golf and dancing.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, David of Basking Ridge, N.J., and Brian of Napa, Calif.; a daughter, Diane Dutcher of Paynesville, Minn.; four grandchildren; four sisters, Lois Cole of Manchester, Iowa, Evalyn Brownlow of Rochester, Elizabeth (Mrs. Ralph) Maxwell of Richville, Minn., and Harriet (Mrs. Donald) Oldenburg of Austin; and a brother, Earl Fargusson of Austin. A brother preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association or First United Methodist Church.
