She was born October 27, 1932 in Stokes County to Ernest and Berlie Briggs Tuttle. Mrs. Stevens retired from the Stokes County School System with 19 years of service. She was a member of Bannertown Baptist Church.
A 2:00 pm funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Burroughs Chapel with Rev. Clayton Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bannertown Baptist Church Cemetery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Coy Stevens and a son, Mark Anthony Stevens.
She is survived by her son, Rickie Stevens and wife Gail of Lawsonville; 2 grandchildren, Chad Stevens and Jared Stevens; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Lema Brown of Winston-Salem and a brother, Thurmond Tuttle and wife Janie of Julian.
