Jimmy is survived by his wife Sandra Holmes and daughter Laura. He is also survived by his grandmother Lillie Strow and sister Mary Tackitt.
Loved ones meeting Jimmy in Heaven are his parents, Tommie Lee Holmes and Mary Isabel Strow Holmes. His grandfather Joel L. Strow, uncle Eugene Luther Strow and sister Linda Sue Holmes.
Jimmy never met a stranger. He had a kind and loving heart. He would always make you laugh by doing impressions.
Jimmy became a grandfather to a wonderful little boy in 2002. Jimmy was already in Heaven but I thank him for being with me in spirit to welcome our little bundle of joy. When I told my son that I wished grandpa was here, my son smiled. Then I told him that grandpa just said "Hi"
His hobbies were fishing, working in the garden (vegetable, and flower) he had a green thumb and it seemed like the plants and flowers loved him as much as I do.He like riding horses and was a bull rider in our rodeos every year.( this was before I was born) His favorite sports were football, Dallas Cowboys and San Fran 49ers, he also liked baseball, the Angels. He and his grandfather would hoot and holler when there team scored, then they would bust out laughing when I would run around doing the same thing, then I would ask "What are we yelling about ?"
He was assistant umpire for my cousin's little league baseball team. When I was in the band Daddy never missed a performance, contest, or a high school football game. My fellow band members adored him.
His smile and laughter will always be remembered in the lives that he touched.
James Lee "Jimmy" Holmes, the best Daddy in the world.I love you and you are always and forever with me.
