Stephan ‘Steve' ‘Teffy' Lorkovich, 83, a lifelong resident of Aliquippa, passed away Tuesday evening, November 2, 2010.

Born October 15, 1927, in Aliquippa, he was a son of the late Paul and Katherine (Cavlovic) Lorkovich. Steve proudly served in the US Army near the end of World War II at Halloran General Hospital on Staten Island. On June 14, 1969, he was united in marriage to the former Leona Weekley. Steve was a retired maintenance employee of Aliquippa Schools. An avid outdoorsman and fisherman, he enjoyed trout fishing in Canada and Western Pennsylvania. He also had a love of wookworking, and is remembered by his family for totally revamping his New Sheffield home and always having a project ‘in the works'. Steve served as a parent volunteer for Boy Scout Troop #423 and as a guide for the Boy Scouts' affiliated Canoe Trails in Canada. Proud of his Croatian heritage, he was also a member of Croatian Fraternal Union, Lodge #423 in Aliquippa. He and his wife were members of Monaca United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, Leona, he will be sadly missed by a son, Paul (Jennifer) Lorkovich, of Mayfield Heights, OH and a daughter, Malinda (Pat) Lorkovich of Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Tiegan, Elise, Brynn, Kassie, Adwen and Rowen; a brother, Paul ‘Skeeter' (Elsie) Lorkovich of Aliquippa; a sister-in-law, Rita Lorkovich of Beaver; a brother-in-law, Ancil (Mary Lou) Weekley of Greensboro NC and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents Steve was preceded in death by a brother, John ‘Tar' Lorkovich and two sisters, Ann (Jack) Zaluski and Mary (Marion) Butcher.

Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral services on Saturday at 10 a.m. His pastor, Rev. Bruce Mould will officiate.

Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
