Obit: Dell A Cannon, 67, retired salesman and a well-known Fort Dodge resident for 40 years, died suddenly Friday evening, Oct 22, at his home following a heart attack. Although he had been under medical care for a heart condition during the past year, he had not been ill in recent weeks. He and Mrs Cannon had just returned Friday afternoon from a 10-day visit at the home of their son, James D Cannon in Omaha, NE.

Dell was born in Fremont, IA Feb 20, 1887 and was the son of the Mr and Mrs Samuel Cannon who were pioneer Fremont merchants. He was married to Louise Stickel in Boone in 1919. Surviving him besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs Richard E Mann of Des Moines and 2 sons Samuel E Cannon of Fort Dodge and James D Cannon of Omaha, 6 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Margaret Schultz of Portland, OR and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral was held at Fort Dodge with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery there. Graveside military rites were conducted by the Ford Dodge American Legion port. A veteran of World War I, Mr Cannon was also a Legion member.
