Surname: Sellier / Cellier

Marie arrived from France aboard 'Le Profond' in 1720 with her husband, Pierre Mayeux.

Although the exact date of her death is not known, she died prior to the date of her succession. On 29 January 1739, her husband, Pierre Mayeux (Maieux) requested a family meeting in order to select a tutor and sub-tutor (guardian) for the minor children of Pierre and his deceased wife, Marie Cellier. Pierre was identified as a resident of Pointe Coupée. The request was made before Edmé-Gatien de Salmon, commissaire of the marine, "ordonnateur" and premier judge of the Superior Council of Louisiana. In the document, the children were identified as François, Geneviève, Cécile, Magdelaine, and Margueritte. An inventory of her estate was taken on 14 February 1739. It is unknown if Marie had recently died or if her succession was opened because Pierre was preparing to remarry. He signed a marriage contract with Marie Françoise Manne on 27 February 1739.
