Phebe was the daughter of William Rorke and Martha Williams Boone.

A pioneer resident of Fenelon Township was called to her long rest on Saturday September 16, in Edmonton, Alberta, in the person of Phoebe Clendenan, at the ripe age of eighty.
Deceased was born in Picton, Prince Edward County, in 1836. When eleven years of age she moved to Collingwood, with her parents. In 1855 she married the late Edwin Clendenan of Mariposa, who predeceased her four years ago. Her maiden name was Phoebe Rorke. She was a lifelong member of the Society of Friends, and was of a retiring disposition, an affectionate and tender mother, and was loved by a large circle of friends.
She is survived by three sons and four daughters, Mrs. E. Wilkinson of Woodville, Mrs. W.T. Grimston of West Ops, Mrs. F.J. Turner of Castor, Alta, George of Clarksburg,Collingwood, Dr. A.E. of Edmonton, Benjamin of Lindsay, Thos. M. of Peace River, W.M. Clendenan who died in Arcola three years ago was her oldest son.
Twelve grandchildren survive her. The late Mr. and Mrs. Clendenan were the first people in Fenelon Township to have a logging bee, without giving the men intoxicating drink. A significant fact was that prohibition came into force the day of her death.
The funeral of the late Mrs. Clendenan took place from the home of her son-in-law Mr. W.T. Grimston, West Ops and proceeded to the Friends Cemetery for interment.
