Known as 'Jamie' as a child. Son of James J. and Ethel Dascher Gray. Brother of Gail M. MacIntosh, Joan E. Polak, Timothy D. and Rev. Jonathan E. Gray. He worked for NYS Dept of Social Services and authored 'Trends in Child Abuse in New York State', the definitive work on the subject at that time. Very active with Albany Civic Theater and his neighborhood association. He was also a personal friend of actress/singer Doris Day, and very active in promoting her pet foundation. He died at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by his entire family, in his mother's arms.
Cause of death: Liver disease and medical mismanagement.
