OBITUARY-
The funeral for Curtis Raymond Sackett will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville with the Revs. Jules Erickson and Ron Allen co-officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.
Mr. Sackett, 59, of 202 Second Ave. S.W., a former area farmer, died Tuesday (March 23, 1999) at Saint Marys Hospital where he had been a patient two weeks. He had been ill several years.
Born Jan 15, 1940, in Pleasant Grove Township, Olmsted County, he grew up on the family farm, attended a rural Pleasant Grove school and graduated from Stewartville High School. He farmed on the family farm until moving into Stewartville in 1980. On Sept. 29, 1958, he married Margaret Carol Weber at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville. She is employed by the Rochester School District. Mr. Sackett was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Cynthia (Mrs. Robert) Wiley of Byron and Lori (Mrs. Michael) Chinn of Stewartville; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his father and stepmother, Cyril and Eleanor Sackett of Stewartville; and three brothers, Richard of Hastings, and David and Jan, both of Stewartville. He was preceded in death by his mother and a grandson.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and until 11:30 a.m. Friday at Griffin Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville and an hour before the service at the church.
