Isaac Clark Phinney was born May 27, 1842 in Scotland County, Missouri, to Seth and Mary Ann Charlton Phinney.
Isaac is the oldest of 6 children, he has 2 brothers and 3 sisters: Rebecca Emma Phinney Stinnett, Melvina Phinney Baxter, John (JACK) Martin Phinney, Mary (FRANK) Frances Phinney Peel, and Robert Henry Phinney.
It appears that when Robert was just a baby Seth and Mary Ann moved the family to Pilot Point, Texas. However, Isaac's Uncle Martin stayed in Missouri and raised his family there. Isaac, enlisted in the Confederacy in Denton County, Texas and joined Capt. Brown's Co. H, Col. Gano's 29th TX Regiment, Cavalry around 1862. After the war, he returned to Pilot Point, Texas.
On September 3, 1866, Isaac married Sallie Atchison in Denton County. They had 6 children: Ira Gallano (I G), Otis Henry Phinney, Edgar (I E), Kate Phinney Allmon, Frank Phinney, and Mary Phinney Page.
Isaac Clark Phinney died June 5, 1890 and is buried in Pilot Point, Texas.
