Gene N. Patton, 48, son of Luda Moore Patton and the late Robert E. Patton, died on May 21 at 7:45 a.m. after a short illness of cancer. Gene was a faithful member of the Marshall United Methodist Church, Marshall, Mich., and an employee of the St. Regis Paper Company for 22 years. Member of Valley Star Masonic Lodge No. 577 F&AM.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Glenn and Frank of Ohio; sisters, Wanda Valentine of Knoxville, Norma Eureatha Lewis of Ohio; five nephews; five nieces; and a multitude of friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Cross Chapel. His pastor, Rev. Harold F. Filbrandt of Marshall officiated. Burial was in Fincastle Cemetery.
Masonic memorial services were held at Cross Chapel at 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Cross Funeral Home, LaFollette, was in charge of arrangements.
