Betty Sams Daniel died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband, Captain James Wallace Daniel, Jr., her parents, Louise and Hansford Sams, Sr., her brother, Hansford Sams, Jr., her sister, Louise, and brother-in-law Dr. James D. Hardy.

She is survived by her son, J. Wallace Daniel III, his wife, Dr. Perky Daniel, their daughter, Anna, sister-in-law Hayden Sams, brother- and sister-in-law John and Janet Daniel, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Agnes Scott College Class of 1939, and a great-granddaughter of college founder Colonel George W. Scott.

A life member of Decatur Presbyterian Church, she served actively for many years through Presbyterian Women's work and supported a variety of local and global missions programs.

Her extended family will gather for a graveside service.

Immediately afterward, family and friends will join together in celebrating her life and witnessing to the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ at Decatur Presbyterian Church on Thurs, Dec 13, at 11 AM. A reception will follow in the church parlor.
