Mr. Joseph Wiruth, a bachelor farmer living on the James Barton farm three miles west of town was last Tuesday shot and killed by Frank Svojgr, 17 years old boy who had been working for Mr. Wiruth.
The coroners inquest was held Wednesday morning and the jury returned the following verdict, "We find that the deceased, Joseph Wiruth came to his death Tuesday morning April 23rd between the hours of 8 and 10 o'clock A.M. as a result from a gun shot wound in the hands of one Frank Svojgr.
Mr. Wiruth, the murdered man was a young man who was well known and liked by everyone. The remains were buried in the National (Kopsa) Cemetery Thursday by the Z.C.B.J. Lodge of which the murdered man was a member."
