John L. Green, 79, of 102 Cisco Road, a retired farmer, died at 12:12 p.m. yesterday at Good Samaritan Hospital following a long illness. A native of Lincoln County, he was a son of the late James B. and Mary Goode Green, and a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. He had been a resident of Fayette County since 1903. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Gilla Beasley Green; two sons, William G. and Joseph Green of Lexington; a sister, Mrs. Arthur Adams of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Mrs. Hall Smith, Mrs. Virginia Hunter, Miss Doris Ann Green, Mrs. Gerald Davis, Mrs. Helen Tribble, John S. and Mark K. Green; and ten great grandchildren, all of Lexington. Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the W. R. Milward Mortuary - Broadway by the Rev. Murphy D. Miller. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Bearers will be John S. Green, Elwood Green, Stanley G. Adams, Roy F. Adams, Richard H. Young and Allen Goode. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 p.m. today.
