The daughter of Albert Matejka and Nancy Adeline Conner, Elvira married Harry Benjamin Feilner on 31 Jul 1913 in Littleton, Arapahoe County, Colorado.

Elvira and Harry were the parents of 5 children. The family moved many times over the years.

They lived in Rockford, Illinois in the late 1910's. He worked as a machinist for the Rockford Machine and Tool Company. In the mid-1920's, he worked at the Granite City Steel Rolling Mill in Granite City, Madison County, Illinois. By 1930, the family lived in Jackson, Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri. He worked there as a farmer. He then went back to working for Granite City Steel as a machinist and then for the National Enamel and Stamping Company in Granite City by the early 1940's. Elvira and Harry retired to Grafton, Jersey County, Illinois in 1947.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Grafton.

Harry suffered a stroke in November of 1963. He lived until February of 1973 when he died at the age of 78.

Elvira moved to St. Charles, Missouri after Harry died. She lived there for a month, but suffered an illness of 3 weeks and had to become a resident of Villa Capri Manor in Maryland Heights, St. Louis County, Missouri. She died there at the age of 79 years and 19 days.

She was survived by 1 daughter, Dorothy Pettus of Bonne Terre, Missouri; 3 sons, Ralph Feilner of Half Moon Bay, California, Earl Feilner of St. Charles, Missouri, and Paul Feilner of Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 brother; and 2 sisters.

In addition to her husband, Elvira was preceded in death by her mother and father; and a son, Oscar, who died in 1916, when he was 7 months and 2 days old.

Visitation was held at the Assembly of God Church in Grafton. Funeral services were conducted there at 1 p.m. on the afternoon of 10 Apr 1973. Burke Funeral Home in Grafton was in charge of arrangements.
