Train Kills Woman At Elk Grove Depot
ELK GROVE (Sacramento Co.), June 13. -- Mrs. Orsola Pia, 60, wife of Louis Pia, county highway department worker, was struck and killed by the locomotive of Southern Pacific passenger train No. 262 shortly before 10 A. M. today as the train was slowing for a stop at the station here.

Mix reported to the coroner's office that Mrs. Pia apparently decided to dash across the tracks to reach her home on the west side of the right of way before being cut off by the train.
