Owens Services Saturday

Services for Mrs. Nannie Lee Owen, 96, were held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Covington. Rev. William McLean officiated. Interment was in Munford Cemetery. Maley Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Owen, widow of Charlie C. "Burke" Owen, of Munford died Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Tipton County Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was a housewife and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Covington.

Mrs. Owen was born Nov. 27, 1876 to Tobe and Armanda Meadows in Mississippi. She had lived most of her life in Covington.

She leaves five sons, Charlie C. Owen, Jr., Carmack Owen and Clyde Owen, all of Covington, Claude Owen of Memphis, and Walter Sale Owen of Collierville; four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Sanders and Mrs. Lollie Robinson of Covington, Mrs. Lenora Glenn of Munford and Mrs. Odie Carter of Collierville; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
