The Clearfeld Progress, Clearfield, Pa., Wednesday Evening, July 19, 1933

Moses C. Norris of Pike Township passed away at the Clearfield Memorial Hospital Tuesday morning at 6:20 o'clock. Funeral services will be held from the residence of his son Rufus with whom he made his home, in Pike Township Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. A. R. Turner, pastor of the Methodist Church and Rev. Harry E. Rundell, pastor of the Baptist Church officiating, interment in Oak Hill Cemetery. Obituary later.

Moses Cameron Norris, who parsed away at the Clearfield Hospital Tuesday morning was in fairly good health before his removal to the hospital July llth, for an operation for hernia. In spite of his advanced age he put a hard fight but was forced to give up the battle.

Mr. Norris was a life long resident of Pike Township and with his late wife, Maria Hockman Norris, who preceded him to the grave Jan. 29, 1919, took up housekeeping on the farm at Chestnut Ridge which was his home until his death. He was a very prosperous farmer and business man and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. He heard the call during the Civil War and enlisted in Company I, 105th Regiment of the Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was a member of the G. A. K.

Mr. Norris is survived by the fol­lowing children: Mrs. Law Whitaker, Mrs. Reubin Whitaker, Mrs. L. R. Neeper, Walter Norris, Rufus Norris, of Pike Township; Mrs. Joseph P. Walker of Curwensville, and Frank Norris of Kerrmoor. He is also sur­vived by six brothers and sisters: Capt. I. B. Norris of Curwensville; Mrs. Isaac Stage, George L. Norris, Wesley P. Norris and Ord L. Norris of Clearfield, and Mrs. William Helper of Grampian.
