Catherine was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneer Club. She was a retired Chief Switchboard Operator from the Illinois Bell Telephone Co with 35 years of service. In 1968, she retired as a switchboard operator at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.
Catherine does not have a gravestone.

Leo James Carr, 72, died Saturday in Chesterton, Ind. Formerly of Chicago, Mr. Carr was a World War II Marine veteran. As a self-employed artist, he worked mostly on oil paintings. Survivors include a sister, Mary B. Ruhs. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 634 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton.
