Mrs. Pearl A. Lane, 61, director of Title III Nutrition Program for Area IV Council on Aging, died unexpectedly at 4:08 AM Wednesday, July 27, 1983, in Lafayette Home Hospital. The daughter of Henry C. and Ella Emily Haroman Wichman, she was born in Leroy, IN, and came to Lafayette from Crown Point 20 years ago. In 1930, she was married in Crown Point, to Floyd O. Lane, who survives.
Mrs. Lane had been associated with the nutrition program and also senior citizens homebound meal programs for several years. She was president of Indiana Day Council of Carpenters Ladies Auxiliary and past president of Carpenters Auxiliary, Local 462. She also was a member of Raccoon Lake Association.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Michael) Hartwick and Mona Stokes, both of Lafayette; a son, James Lane of Kansas City, MO; her mother, Mrs. Ella Russell of Rensselaer; a sister, Ruth (Mrs. Arnold) Bruck of Remington; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her father, and a brother, William Wichman. Service July 29, Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Father John Flajole officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
